Timeline Youth Club in Soshangve is seems to be doing the right things at the right time for the second
year since its formation back July 2024.
And so far two of their events were a success and as the results they plan more events this coming
summer.
Agnes Marumo one the co-founders and owner of Beauty by Nature Hair Salon told Stokvel talk,: “ we
all belong to a church choir and also a members of Paradise Ministry here in Soshanguve kk, but some of
us own business too.
So a year ago we decided to expand from doing just music competitions as members of church, we then
form club to oversee activities we wish to see happening here in our township like sport, art and
business that belong to our church members.
And so far we were successful in organizing Choir completion where eight clubs choirs came to compete
against each other, then later we then help one of our in launching her Hair Salon which operate at the
backyard of her home,”Marumo said
Timeline has about 15 members who meet four times a year and instead of contributing their own cash
towards they club they embark on fundraising activities to raise needed cash for every event the
organize.
And at each and every event they sell food and tickets to make money for the running of the club
including transport where necessary.
Pule Ngobeni sad,: “After the 30 th June deadline most foreign nationals decided to leave to their
respective countries and this left a gap in the market so I decided to open my food corner to sell Kota
there.
And so far so good, I currently work with just one person at the moment and happy that it is the club
that I belong to that help me achieve this, I therefore will make sure I donate back some money into
the clubs accounts once I have more than enough to run my business.” he concluded.
Agnes said,: “ This coming seasons we will be involve in organizing another events one is abt biers
around the township, we want them to compete for cash prize and hope we will get sponsorship from
local business.
And our second event Just before December will be a Restaurant Launch for one of our members.”
