The next chapter of the Miss South Africa 2026 journey has officially begun.
In a striking House of Nala creation, TV host, executive producer and entrepreneur and
Minnie Dlamini unveiled the Miss South Africa 2026 Top 19. More than a milestone in the
competition, the announcement marks the emergence of a remarkable group of young
women whose ambition, intellect, leadership and commitment to social impact have
distinguished them as voices of a generation.
Drawn from the Top 24, the Top 19 earned their place following an intensive judging process
that challenged them to demonstrate not only who they are, but what they stand for. Through
personal storytelling, rigorous interviews and purpose-driven presentations, each contestant
was assessed on her ability to lead with authenticity, think strategically and create meaningful
change within her community and beyond.
The judging panel brought together some of South Africa's most respected leaders and
changemakers: Dr Aisha Pandor, entrepreneur, investor and Co-Founder and CEO of
Pandora Health; Shudufhadzo Musida, Miss South Africa 2020, global advocate and
strategist; and Colleen Larsen, Founder and CEO of Business Engage. The process was
independently audited by PwC.
Together, the judges evaluated each contestant through a contemporary leadership lens,
considering qualities such as vision, resilience, influence, innovation, social impact and the
ability to inspire collective progress.

The final place in the Top 19 was determined by the South African public, with Sanelisiwe
Diko securing her position through the Public Vote and earning the title of Fan Favourite.
As they advance in the competition, the Top 19 will continue developing and expanding their
individual initiatives through Empower Youth Africa (EYA), the Miss South Africa
Organisation's flagship impact platform. Their work spans critical areas including education,
entrepreneurship, youth development, health and wellness, civic participation and Pan-
African collaboration.
Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Patron and Chairperson of the Miss South Africa Organisation,

"Miss South Africa has entered an era of leadership, focused on creating meaningful impact
at scale. We are committed to developing every contestant, not only the winner. Through
Empower Youth Africa, we are cultivating a generation of women who understand their
responsibility to society and who are prepared to lead, influence and drive meaningful change

This year's Top 19 announcement, presented in partnership with House of Nala, reflects a
powerful meeting of fashion, purpose and African excellence. It celebrates women who are
not only pursuing a title, but who are actively shaping the future of South Africa and the
continent.
As the competition journey continues, one thing is already clear: Miss South Africa's New Era
is not merely about who will wear the crown. It is about the women who will use their
platforms to transform communities, champion progress and redefine what leadership looks
like for a new generation.
