More than 500 verified Chinese exhibitors showcasing over 10,000 products will gather at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 23–25 September 2026 for the 10th edition of China Homelife South Africa and Machinex.

The three-day trade fair will connect South African and African importers, wholesalers, retailers, distributors, entrepreneurs and sourcing professionals directly with Chinese manufacturers across a wide range of industries.

Running daily from 10:00 to 17:00 across three exhibition halls, the event will feature products and solutions spanning building materials, household and consumer goods, machinery, textiles and garments, décor and furniture, energy solutions, food-processing equipment, cookware, beauty and personal care products, and other categories.

Binu Pillai, Chief Operating Officer of Meorient International Exhibition, organisers of China Homelife South Africa, says the event is designed to create practical business opportunities between Chinese manufacturers and African buyers.

“China Homelife is about bringing manufacturers and buyers together in one place and creating opportunities for meaningful business to take place. South African businesses can meet suppliers directly, compare products and explore new sourcing, distribution and partnership opportunities,” says Pillai.

“For Chinese manufacturers, the event provides direct access to one of Africa’s most important markets and an opportunity to better understand the needs of businesses and consumers in the region.”

DIRECT ACCESS TO MANUFACTURERS

For South African businesses, one of the key advantages of the trade fair is the opportunity to engage directly with manufacturers.

Business owners looking to expand their product ranges can explore new merchandise and potential suppliers, while manufacturers and industrial businesses can assess machinery, equipment and technologies that could improve productivity and production capacity.

The fair also provides buyers with an opportunity to compare products and suppliers, discuss pricing and order quantities, explore distribution arrangements and establish relationships that can continue beyond the exhibition.

Machinex complements the broader China Homelife offering with a focus on machinery, equipment and manufacturing solutions for businesses looking to improve or expand their operations.

Exhibitors participating in the event undergo a verification process before taking part, aimed at giving buyers greater confidence when identifying potential manufacturing and sourcing partners.

TECHNOLOGY-ENABLED GLOBAL SOURCING

Technology will also play an important role in this year’s event. Registered buyers can use China Homelife’s digital sourcing tools to access supplier matches, browse digital product catalogues, communicate with suppliers and identify sourcing opportunities before and during the exhibition.

Pillai says the 2026 edition builds on the experience of previous years, with increased emphasis on business matchmaking, product diversity, innovation and practical commercial opportunities.

“This year’s event is not simply about bringing more products into the exhibition halls. We want to make it easier for buyers to identify the right suppliers, have meaningful conversations and leave with tangible business opportunities,” says Pillai.

“The South African market continues to evolve, and businesses are constantly looking for new products, technologies and ways to become more competitive. The exhibition creates a platform where those opportunities can be explored directly.”

A GLOBAL SOURCING PLATFORM

China Homelife is an international exhibition brand with a 20-year history and has staged more than 100 exhibitions across over 20 countries. Its international footprint has included exhibitions in markets such as Indonesia, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan, Germany, Turkey and South Africa. The South African edition has developed into an important meeting point for Chinese manufacturers seeking opportunities in Africa and African businesses looking for direct sourcing and commercial partnerships with China.

The 2026 event marks the 10th edition of China Homelife South Africa.
