FNB, in partnership with Fexco, is extending a service already available to international cardholders when paying at shops, restaurants and other businesses in South Africa on our Speedpoint devices to cash withdrawals at its ATM network.
Customers will now be able to view ATM withdrawal amounts in their home currency before completing a transaction, providing greater transparency and choice when accessing cash while travelling.
The rollout has been completed across FNB’s ATM network and builds on a longstanding partnership between FNB and Fexco.
As one of South Africa’s largest self-service banking networks, FNB continues to invest in solutions that improve access to convenient and secure banking services while enhancing the overall customer experience.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) enables international cardholders to view the value of a withdrawal in their home currency before completing a transaction. Customers can then choose whether to transact in their home currency or South African rand.
John Mlangeni, CEO of Merchant Services at FNB, says, “International visitors want convenient access to cash and greater certainty when managing their money while travelling. This enhancement helps customers better understand the value of a transaction before making a decision, while benefiting from the scale and accessibility of FNB’s network.”
“At FNB, we continuously look for opportunities to remove friction from everyday banking experiences. Whether customers are making purchases, withdrawing cash or managing their finances while travelling, our focus is on providing simple, transparent and accessible solutions that make it easier for customers to manage their money.”
“By extending a service already available through everyday purchases to our ATM network, we are creating a more consistent experience for customers across different payment and banking channels.”
The implementation forms part of the longstanding partnership between FNB and Fexco.
Sean Crowe, CEO of Fexco Financial Services, says, “we are pleased to extend our longstanding relationship with FNB through this rollout. By bringing this capability to FNB’s ATM network, we are helping to create a more consistent experience for international cardholders travelling throughout South Africa.”
The service will be available across thousands of locations nationwide, making it easier for international visitors to access cash with greater confidence while travelling in South Africa
