In most cases people who do not earn enough money at times try other ways to increase their income.
This is the same with members of Tshwane Barekisi Forum region 2, in Hammanskraal, some of them
are also members of social clubs such as grocery club, burials and so on.
And often they have their own meetings to discuss many different issues of their daily challenges as
business owner or parents .
Speaking to the forum chairperson Thabo Tshesane said,: Our forum help members with many different
issues that are part and parcel of their daily lives.
We also oversee the running of the social clubs they have because it is through this clubs that members
can boost their business financial for some of them, while others use the clubs help them save lost of
cash because they also buy in bulk and share stock incase it is for business or share grocery if that if is
for that reason among themselves.
And each time they do that most saves lost of cash which they can use for other things, while they also
can buy more for less, however the challenge right now is though money continue to circulate amongst
themselves the wholesales they buy from are not owned by local people in most cases, but foreign
national
Like most organizations we need space where we can operate therefore if the government could just
provide us with land at every taxi ranks so we can have our own local Green Market for those who sell
veggies for instance that can help our business to grow much better, “he said
The forum has over hundred of members who also buy their stock in bulk in Tshwane but due to
distance some of their cash have to be spend too on transport which also takes bulk of the cash
collected amongst members.
The forum also help members register their business as co-operatives but also looking for any institution
that can also help empower members with skills on how better to run the business.
Thabo Said, : We do not expect our members to be on the same level forever hence we want them to
grow their business and become in depended or sustainable since they are also parents who look after
families.
As the result we looking at companies that can help partner with us where necessary, empower our
members with financial skills such investing our cash in other business and Banks can play such a role
and such relationship might even much further as we all bank our cash, he concluded
