ASICS Sportstyle unveils the GEL-CUMULUS 16 by Griff sneaker, a new project with singer-songwriter Griff. The collaboration brings together the worlds of music and movement, merging ASICS’ performance heritage with Griff’s distinctive creative perspective. At the core of the collaboration is a shared belief in the emotional power of movement. Rooted in ASICS’ founding philosophy, Anima Sana in Corpore Sano or, a sound mind in a sound body, the project explores how movement extends beyond sports into creativity, self-expression, and wellbeing. Griff’s work, known for its emotional depth and connection, naturally aligns with this vision, creating a partnership grounded in shared values. The GEL-CUMULUS 16 silhouette has been reimagined through Griff’s lens, resulting in a design that feels both personal and expressive. Presented in a black colourway, the shoe features a distinctive ribbon lacing system, inspired by ballet aesthetics and the language of movement.
Drawing on themes of strength, grace, and discipline, the design reflects the parallels between performance in music and sport. Griff’s own styling sensibility also plays a key role in the design. Referencing her habit of pairing socks with loafers, the shoe incorporates a layered, styled approach that blends softness with structure.
