Two South African powerhouses Zonke and Bongo Maffin are set to be part of the line-up for
the upcoming All-White Soul Sessions Concert taking place at SunBet Arena in Pretoria on
the 7th September 2024. This follows the recent announcement of Dru Hill as the headline
act for this concert.
“It is quite an honour for us to be invited to be part of the All-White Soul Sessions Concert
and to share the stage with the legendary Dru Hill, is a cherry on top. We can’t wait to have
fun with our fans and take them down memory lane with all their favourite hits.”, says Stoan
Seate, one of the Bongo Maffin group members.
The multi award winning Bongo Maffin is a music group that has wowed South Africans and
the world with their distinct sound. They have released a number of successful albums like;
Leaders of D’Gong, The Concerto, Bongolution, and New Construction. The four-member
group consists of Stone Seate, Jah Seed, Speedy, and lead vocalist Thandiswa Mazwai.
Zonke, another multi award winning sensation, added, “I am so excited to be part of the All-
White Soul Sessions Concert once again. What makes it more exciting is that I will be
sharing the stage Bongo Maffin, who are legendary stars in their own right. Sharing the
stage with Dru Hill…I don’t know what to say. For me it’s one of those “pinch me” moments,
we grew up listening to them and to share the stage with them is something else. I can’t wait
for this day to come.”
Dru Hill is an American group from Baltimore, Maryland consisting of members Sisqo, Jazz,
Nokio, Scola, Black and Smoke, whose repertoire includes soul, hip hop soul and gospel
music. Over the last 25 years, Dru Hill has received multiple awards, performed across the
world, topped the Billboard Music charts multiple times, and has sold over 40 million records
worldwide. Recording new material and continuously performing at sold-out venues around
the globe, Dru Hill continues to solidify its legacy as one of the greatest groups of all time.
