The nominees for this year’s YOU Spectacular have been announced and readers can now vote for their favourite celebrities in the various categories – from Favourite TV Presenter and Sexiest Woman to Most Stylish Man and Favourite Sports Star.
“They entertain and inspire us all year long, so the YOU Spectacular is an opportunity for us to celebrate our favourite stars,” says Linda Pietersen, editor of YOU. “And who better to choose the winners than our readers?”
Some stars have even cracked the nod more than once, with presenters Bonang Matheba, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Minnie Dlamini and Lalla Hirayama and singer Cassper Nyovest all being nominated in more than one category.
Pop trio Beatenberg won big at the South Africa Music Awards recently and the YOU Spectacular sees them up against fellow Sama nominees Cassper Nyovest, AKA and Toya Delazy in the Favourite Music Star category. Will they triumph once again?
This year an exciting new category has been added to the YOU Spectacular to make a total of 14 – Social Media Star recognises celebs who not only entertain us with fun posts and great pics, but also have good interaction with their followers.
Readers who vote in each category will be entered into a lucky draw for the following fabulous prizes:
– A brand-new Suzuki SX4 worth R295 900
– A Puzey Bladez G-Wizz scooter worth R12 990
– Four Yamaha keyboards worth R4 950 each
– Four Olympus digital cameras worth R4 500 each

SMS SPEC followed by the nominee’s code plus your name, surname and town to 32113. You may vote only 20 times for the same person. You may vote for more than one person in the same category. Each vote must be sent in a separate SMS. Each SMS costs R1. Voting closes at midnight on 5 June.
