Zaza Mokhethi, a name that is fast approaching the Gospel powerhouse household name in South Africa. Zaza is skilled, versatile and an anointed singer, her stage presence is always accompanied by the tangible strong presence of the Trinity God. She was rewarded for her hard work when she was recently announced as a nominee for SAMA23 in the category of Best Traditional Faith Music Album. Speaking to Stokvel Talk she could not contain her excitement and told us that she is going to win the award. ‘’ This is the right time for me. My first live DVD and God is doing miracles’’. It wont be walkover for her as she is nominated with the giants in the music industry including Deborah Fraser, the late Sifiso Ncwane, Spirit of Praise and also Teboho.
Born to perform, Zaza started singing at the age of 3 and was already doing backing vocals for renowned gospel artists such as Rebecca Malope, Vicky Vilikazi, SollyMahlangu and Keke by age 19. An international performer, Zaza has performed in the Netherlands, Paris and London during the “Afica Mamas” as well as the “AfrikaAfrika” international tours. Zaza has been part of South Africa’s biggest Gospel albums Joyous Celebration 12, Spirit of Praise 4 and 5 and Woman in Praise. She is the voice behind South Africa’s favorite gospel hits including JEZABEL, CALVARY and ZONK’IZONO. As a solo artist, she has recorded the albums Imvuselelo; UmoyavOyingcwele; Thank You; and Imvuselelo. She hails from Kwa-Thema, in the East of Johannesburg, Gauteng Province in South Africa.
