Top-selling global single malt brand The Glenlivet launched a new expressionin Johannesburg on 7 September. With the introduction of the Founder’s Reserve, this top-selling global single malt brand pays tribute to its Founder George Smith’s original vision to create the definitive smooth Speyside single malt.
The stylish launch eventsaw a generous turnout of South Africa’s top tier celebritiesand influential personalities coming out to play at Katzy’s in Rosebank, where they enjoyed a first tasting of Founder’s Reserve – an expression that perfectly suits the lifestyle of ambitious men with discerning style and taste. Invited guests enjoyed an evening of fine whisky, delicious cuisine and one of this year’s most exciting live music collaborations. In the spotlight were award-winning house band Mi Casa and one of South Africa’s legendary musicians, Ray Phiri. While Mi Casa’s brilliant performance had everyone on their feet and dancing to their latest chart-toppers, it was their moving tribute to Ray Phiri that ultimately brought the house down.The evening ended on a party note with a set by deep house DJ Glen Lewis, who spun the tunes until the small hours.
