It’s almost time for the glittering Miss Soweto 2015 gala finals, sponsored by White Star Super Maize Meal, where the new queen will be crowned. The event will take place on Saturday, 5 December 2015 at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani from 7pm until 10pm.
Once crowned, the Miss Soweto will become a role model for girls of all ages and play an important role in defining the image of South African womanhood based on grace, poise, health and enthusiasm to succeed. The Miss Soweto pageant has produced a string of exceptional pageant queens that include Basetsana Khumalo, Augustine Masilela, Doris Msibi and Lerato Kganyago and many others. The success of these remarkable South African women in the years following their crowning bears testimony to the calibre and potential of the pageant.
“White Star is and has been a proud sponsor of Miss Soweto for the past six years, taking girls from the true heart of South Africa, and grooming female leaders of tomorrow,” says White Star Marketing Manager Mokhele Makhothi. “The Miss Soweto pageant is a historic event in Soweto; it belongs to the community. White Star is playing its part in making this pageant one of South Africa’s best-loved cultural events and the community should join in support”.

The final event will be a grand affair, with the audience being entertained by dance group, Soweto’s Finest, and award-winning singer Donald.

“As South Africa’s number one maize meal brand, and maize meal forming an integral part in the South African diet, White Star and Miss Soweto are the perfect fit. We are excited to be involved in this pageant again this year and know the ladies will do us proud,” Makhothi concludes.
