Like its larger new-generation siblings, the new hatch inherits Mazda’s Kodo design language and SkyActiv technologies and buyers will have a choice between two 1.5-litre engines in the form of a petrol and a diesel.

It delivers some of the B-segment’s lowest fuel consumption (the standard power 1.3-litre petrol uses just 5.1 litres per 100 km combined) while producing just 119 g/km of CO2.
