Reading Time: 2 minutes

The wait is (almost) over… The people have voted, and the 10 tracks that will be locking horns to be crowned Amstel Record of the Year at the 22nd Annual South African Music Awards have been announced.
The #AmstelROTY finalists were revealed on SABC1’s Live Amp on Friday, 27 May 2016, amid much excitement and anticipation. The 10 were chosen after members of the public were invited to SMS their vote for their favourite hit of the past year, choosing from a shortlist of 20 tracks.
The finalists are: AKA – All Eyes on Me; AKA – Baddest; Prince Kabyee – Better Days; Riky Rick – Boss Zonke; Four7 – J’Adore; Nathi – Nomvula; Emtee – Roll Up; TiMO ODV – Save Me; K.O – Skhanda Love; and Black Coffee – We Dance Again.
Rapper extraordinaire AKA ended up with two songs in the top 10, but will that serve to split his vote once the winner is announced? All will be revealed on the night of Saturday, 4 June 2016 – but in the meantime, music lovers can flex their fingers and start texting in support of the South African track they think defined and captured the essence of 2015.
“Amstel is proud to be the sponsor of the Record of the year category which recognizes the best SA talent for the year. As with previous years we are happy to once again provide the Amstel Green Room to give viewers the inside scoop and see the winners at the moment of their celebration. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all the nominees the best of luck” Says Khaya Dlanga Marketing Manager of Amstel
