Samsung Electronics South Africa have released two new printing apps, Dynamic Workflow and RemoteCall, designed to enhance productivity and save operational costs for business technicians.
Dynamic Workflow and RemoteCall are the latest app additions to the Smart UX Center. The center is Samsung’s Android-based user interface the Smart MultiXpress, multifunction printers. These new tools save users time by running multiple document handling tasks simultaneously in one step and allowing remote access printer technicians, should they experience any problems.
“Modern mobile technologies have so much to offer in the business environment and Samsung has created a new printing ecosystem around this concept,” said Mike van Lier, Director of Enterprise Business Division (EBD) at Samsung Electronics SA. “The Smart UX Center and all of the apps that we develop will make the printer compatible with Android, offering users greater mobility and connectivity.”
The Dynamic Workflow app enables users to create and customise their own workflow with multiple apps. For example, using this app, customers will seamlessly integrate numerous tasks such as scanning, optical character recognition and document distribution into a single workflow, which is then saved as a one-touch shortcut icon for future use. RemoteCall is a paid for app that remotely connects a user’s printer to a specialist’s service system for diagnosis and troubleshooting.
Key features of Dynamic Workflow and RemoteCall include:
Dynamic Workflow
• App Combination: Integration of multiple app functions into a single workflow; and
• Increased Productivity: Time-saving shortcuts that boost office productivity.
RemoteCall
• Screen Control: Real-time control and diagnosis via remote access;
• On-Screen Drawing: Marking important areas on customers’ screens for clearer communication;
• Text Chat: Communication with support representatives through mobile chat; and
• Simple Connection: Users enter 6-digit code, provided by a support representative, to connect.
The Smart UX Center is one of Samsung’s Internet of Things (loT) projects, converging mobile technologies for an improved office experience. It completes the office printing ecosystem, allowing users to work seamlessly from one device to the next and each month, Samsung releases new apps and widgets to keep the Smart UX Center relevant for business.
“We are bringing the Smart UX Center experience to users’ mobile devices as well to interface with the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) workplace trend in an increasingly mobile world,” van Lier concludes. “Printing isn’t limited to the office anymore. It can happen anywhere, anytime.”
