Sama23 Awards Nomination well deserved

The University of Pretoria Camareta was recently announced as the nominee for the Classical Instrumental Album at an exclusive event held in Boksburg last month. The University has been outstanding in a number of fields including the sporting field. Their soccer team is also involved in the Premier Soccer league, which also created a number of employment opportunities for many people.
The University of Pretoria Camerata was officially established on 19 March 1968. Its mission is to make a contribution towards the cultural development of the student corps and the cultural enrichment of the community by means of choral singing. The Camerata also endeavours to promote a worthy image of the University of Pretoria through striving towards the highest possible artistic standards and by upholding a code of conduct that meets the highest requirements of companionship. The Camerata operates under the auspices of the Department of UPArts. The conductors, Adolf Theron, Willem van Tonder, Prof Petru Gräbe, Prof Johann van der Sandt, Christo Burger and currently the very accomplished Michael Barrett, have constantly upheld high artistic values. The Camerata currently consists of 72 members. A member of the public who does not want to be named thinks that the university stands a good chance of taking the award. It will compete with the likes of Bongani Radebe, The voice of Angels and also Imilonji Kantu Choral Soiety.
