PSV EINDHOVEN and ARSENAL to compete in Durban u19 international tournament final

PSV Eindoven and Arsenal are the two teams who will compete in the 2015 Durban U19 International Football Tournament after both teams won their matches in the semi-finals played on Wednesday, 5 August at the King Zwelithini Stadium in uMlazi.
The first leg of the semi finals kicked off between PSV Eindhoven and the South African U19 team. The Dutch side got of to a flying start, putting the South Africans under pressure from the first whistle. PSV Eindhoven’s consistency in applying pressure eventually paid off in the 21st minute when they were awarded a penalty which was converted by Rommens Phillipe to make it 1-0 before the break. The young Dutch side extended their lead immediately after the break with a long-range effort from Verreth Mathias to make it 2-0.

With the backing of the home crowd, the SA U19 Team eventually found their rhythm as Aghmat Ceres got a goal for the South Africans in the 61st minute to end the match 2-1 in favour of PSV Eindhoven.

The second match of the day was just as intense as Arsenal drew first blood in the 50th minute from a calm finish by Yassin Fortune after some brilliant interchange of passes from the Gunners in the first half. However, a 61st minute equalizer from Baloglu Serkan sent the game to penalties where Arsenal were the eventual winners with a victory 4-2.

The tournament decider will be held on Saturday at the majestic Moses Mabhida stadium where the 2015 Durban U19 International Football Tournament champions will be crowned.

We therefore urge fans in and around Durban to come out in their numbers to enjoy some quality football from these two football clubs” said Gugu Marawa, Tournament Director.

Fans are reminded that entrance to the Moses Mabhida will be free of charge.

South Africa U19 vs FVB Stuttgart 12:30 (3rd and 4th place play off)
PSV Eindhoven vs Arsenal 15:00 (Final)
