For most people stokvels or soxial are a means of saving cash only. However for some it can also help members to transform and become respensible cltlzcn like it use to be few generations ago.
Jetnro Mokoena chairman of the organization said ;”I use to be a rough rider, but that was few years ago before i become a member ,but today iam a different person.
And it is simply because of the club it is as the one that help us respect one another through its constitutional nature and code of conduct.
For me clubs like ours it is not about cash we contribute, but also about building co-operation and cohesion within different communities, “he said
Back To My Roots as it known is based in Rabokala village, Brits outside city of Tshwane, It was established 9 years ago by 4 members and it has since grown to 9 members today
The club consist of man only who are also childhood friends, which is why it has survived till today, But again like most the club meet once a Month and each member contribute R100 at this meetings. This cash goes to their savrngs account and everytime they need money towards burial of a member then certain amount is withdraw.
Jethro said,; “We use cash we saved Monthly to help contribute towards funeral because thus the reason we have a club. But we also expect each member to contribute time and his hands during funeral arrangements, “he mentioned
