The innovative beverage company has renewed its sponsorship
after an extremely successful partnership last year, when it created
a bespoke flavoured energy drink for reigning Miss South Africa
2023, Natasha Joubert, aptly called the MoFaya Berry Queen.
MoFaya, co-founded by DJ Sbu and Siphiwe Shongwe, back in
2013, was the first proudly black-owned energy drink in the
country. The aim was to create a “strong, authentically African-
inspired non-alcoholic beverage brand.”
MoFaya has become a force in the South African energy drink marketplace. To its millions of
loyal customers, MoFaya colloquially means “More Fire”, describing the internal burning
desire, passion, and motivation it inspires, which neatly aligns with its catchy slogan: ‘Ignite
your Mind”.
Stephanie Weil, Miss South Africa CEO, says: “We are thrilled to have MoFaya on board
again and it’s a testament to our symbiotic partnership that they are back again with us. We
look forward to a successful year ahead with them.”
