For a very long time society schemes and social clubs were mainly established for almost same reasons.
Majority of them are founded on the basis of helping members with funeral burial,groceries and other social events like birthdays
But it seems these trend is gradually changing as time went by.
Take for instance the case of Itsoseng Social Club in Kekana Gardens ,Hammanskraal.
When club was established ten years ago the main aim of was to help organise and burials for members.
However today the club had new plans which seeks to increase its own savings .
Speaking to Jack Huma one of the co-founders said,:” We have successfully managed to survive since we started a decade ago.
Back then our needs was about funeral services or burials only, but today our objective has since shifted towards business.
Therefore in future we plan to buy land and start property business by first building rooms for renting purposes ,”Huma said
The organisation started with 14 members and today they have 20 members .
And each month they meet and contribute R100 each into their savings account .
This money is used wherever one of them has passed away.
At that time a certain amount of cash is withdraw and make it available for funeral preparations.
But the group that is more like a family today also prepares meals at this events and everyone is expected to be infull uniform on the day.
