{"id":882,"date":"2026-09-01T18:43:35","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T18:43:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stokveltalk.co.za\/?p=882"},"modified":"2026-09-01T18:43:35","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T18:43:35","slug":"fnb-recognised-among-africas-leading-digital-banks-with-four-global-finance-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stokveltalk.co.za\/?p=882","title":{"rendered":"FNB recognised among Africa\u2019s leading digital banks with four Global Finance awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Bank named Africa\u2019s Best Mobile Banking App, Best User Experience Design, Best in Transformation, and Best Information Security &amp; Fraud Management<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>01 September 2026:<\/strong>\u00a0FNB has received four Africa-level accolades in the 2026 Global Finance World&#8217;s Best Consumer Digital Bank Awards, recognising the Bank&#8217;s continued focus on making digital banking simpler, safer and more valuable for customers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the awards\u2019 Regionally Sub-Category, FNB was\u00a0recognised as:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Best Mobile Banking App in Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best User Experience (UX) Design in Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best in Transformation in Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best Information Security &amp; Fraud Management in Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FNB was also recognised locally among the\u00a0Country, Territories and District Overall and Sub-Category winners for Africa as:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Best Consumer Digital Bank in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best Mobile Banking App in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best User Experience (UX) Design in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best in Transformation in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Best Information Security &amp; Fraud Management in South Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awards form part of Global Finance&#8217;s 27th annual World&#8217;s Best Digital Banks programme, which recognises financial institutions demonstrating strength in digital strategy, customer adoption, innovation and the benefits delivered through digital platforms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FNB Digital InterfaceX Head Giuseppe Virgillito says the four awards are significant because they recognise different parts of the same customer experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Digital innovation only matters if it meaningfully improves the experience for customers. For them, digital banking should feel simple. It should be easy to use, work when they need it, and they should feel safe using it. These awards recognise the work happening across those different areas, from the way customers navigate our digital platforms to the security behind every interaction,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recognition across mobile banking, user experience, transformation, and security reflects how closely these areas now work together. Today, a good digital experience is about more than completing a transaction online. Customers increasingly expect to manage more of their financial lives digitally, without unnecessary complexity or friction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Customers don&#8217;t experience technology, design and security as separate parts of the bank. They experience one relationship with FNB.\u00a0Our role is to make banking feel effortless by creating experiences that are intuitive, relevant and genuinely useful. Everything we do must be rooted in providing real help to our customers, while ensuring the complexity required to deliver those experiences remains invisible to them,&#8221; continues Virgillito.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Global Finance selected the 2026 winners based on criteria including the strength of banks&#8217; digital customer strategies, customer adoption of digital offerings, growth in digital customers, breadth of products, tangible benefits delivered through digital initiatives, and web and mobile design and functionality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awards were assessed by a panel of judges from Infosys, with Global Finance editors responsible for the final selection of winners. Virgillito says expectations of digital banking will continue to evolve as customers become more accustomed to simple, personalised digital experiences in other parts of their lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;People compare their banking experience with every other digital experience they have, not only with other banks. That keeps raising the bar. We have to keep listening to customers, removing friction, and improving how they can manage their money and get things done safely through our digital platforms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He adds that recognition for information security and fraud management is particularly important as more everyday financial activity moves online. &#8220;Convenience can never come at the expense of trust.
