{"id":525,"date":"2026-07-28T18:07:38","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T18:07:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stokveltalk.co.za\/?p=525"},"modified":"2026-07-28T18:07:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T18:07:38","slug":"black-coffee-foundation-expands-gift-of-sight-by-black-coffee-with-dental-care-for-learners-at-primary-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stokveltalk.co.za\/?p=525","title":{"rendered":"BLACK COFFEE FOUNDATION EXPANDS\u00a0GIFT OF SIGHT BY BLACK COFFEE\u00a0WITH DENTAL CARE FOR LEARNERS AT PRIMARY SCHOOL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Black Coffee Foundation is expanding its\u00a0<strong>Gift of Sight by Black Coffee<\/strong>\u00a0initiative with the introduction of a dedicated dental care programme for learners, further strengthening its commitment to improving children&#8217;s health and educational outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>The expanded initiative starts off with a roll out at\u00a0<strong>Zenzeleni Primary School in Alexandra<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>27 &#8211; 29 July 2026<\/strong>, where learners will receive oral health assessments alongside comprehensive eye screenings and vision testing. By combining dental and vision care, the Foundation aims to identify and address health challenges that may affect a child&#8217;s confidence, wellbeing and ability to learn.<\/p>\n<p>Building on the on-going success of\u00a0<strong>Gift of Sight by Black Coffee<\/strong>, which has already provided eye testing to thousands of learners, the Foundation continues to champion early intervention by ensuring children receive access to essential healthcare services that can positively impact their development both inside and outside the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is delivered in partnership with\u00a0<strong>Lepas<\/strong>, the official mobility partner of the Black Coffee Foundation, and is made possible through the continued support of the Foundation&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gift of Sight by Black Coffee<\/strong>\u00a0partners, including\u00a0<strong>Tania Noach Optometrists<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>South African Optometric Association (SAOA)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Love Maison33<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>JHB VIP<\/strong>, all of whom have played an instrumental role in expanding access to quality eye care for children.<\/p>\n<p>As the initiative evolves, the Foundation is also proud to welcome\u00a0<strong>Fourways Dental Studio<\/strong>\u00a0as a new partner who will support the introduction of the dental screenings and follow up care where required; new partner\u00a0<strong>Nelson Mandela Children&#8217;s Hospital<\/strong>\u00a0who will support the on-going eye-testing for the Gift of Sight project; as well as new partner\u00a0<strong>Diamonds Do Good<\/strong>\u00a0who has committed investment with the Black Coffee Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their full potential without preventable health challenges standing in their way,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Lungie Maphumulo, CEO of the Black Coffee Foundation<\/strong>. &#8220;The introduction of dental care marks an exciting new chapter for\u00a0<em>Gift of Sight by Black Coffee<\/em>. We&#8217;ve witnessed the life-changing impact that access to eye care has had on learners, and by expanding the initiative to include oral healthcare, we&#8217;re taking an even more holistic approach to supporting children&#8217;s wellbeing.
