The film is produced by\u00a0<strong>Tshepiso Chikapa Phiri, Moroba Nkawe and Joel Chikapa Phiri<\/strong>\u00a0of Known Associates Entertainment, with advertising legend\u00a0<strong>Peter Vundla<\/strong>\u00a0lending his vision and experience as Executive Producer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE FILM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>To save her community mental health centre from closure, an idealistic psychologist enters the competition to become Drum Magazine\u2019s new agony aunt, Sis Dolly \u2014 a decision that launches her into comical chaos and forces her to heal her own hidden wounds while fighting to secure a future for the people she serves.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Khethiwe \u2014 a quirky, idealistic, and over-achieving psychologist in her late 20\u2019s \u2014 has dedicated her life to running Legae, a free mental health centre in her beloved Meadowlands community. But with the centre on the brink of bankruptcy and closure, she seizes an unexpected opportunity: competing for the role of Drum\u2019s iconic agony aunt, Sis Dolly. At the very heart of that legacy was Sis Dolly \u2014 the ultimate agony aunt to the nation. She was the keeper of our deepest secrets, answering our collective cries for help with a legendary mix of fierce empathy and no-nonsense tough love.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u2014Twiggy Matiwana, Director,\u00a0<em>Dear Sis Dolly<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twiggy Matiwana is a South African director and writer from Grahamstown with a passion for storytelling. After studying creative writing and working as an assistant director, she began directing student films, including\u00a0<em>See, Speak and Hear no Evil<\/em>, which screened at the 2013 Encounters Documentary Film Festival. Her documentary\u00a0<em>The Bicycle Man<\/em>\u00a0won awards at Fespaco 2017 and screened at Cannes. She has directed for television, on the series uBettina Wethu and Unseen. She received both a Broadway World Online and a Naledi Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her performance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dineo Langa<\/strong>\u00a0as Linda<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South African actress and media personality Dineo Langa is widely known for her role as Keabetswe \u201cKea\u201d Khoza in Mzansi Magic\u2019s The Queen. She has hosted major platforms including the South African Music Awards and the South African Film and Television Awards, and has appeared in Scandal!, The Estate, and the feature film Mrs Right Guy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>S\u2019thandiwe Kgoroge<\/strong>\u00a0as Melody MM Makaringe<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award-winning actress and director S\u2019thandiwe Kgoroge rose to prominence in Yizo Yizo, earning an Avanti Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her extensive film and television work includes Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, in which she portrayed Albertina Sisulu, as well as Shaka iLembe and This Is Not a Burial, It\u2019s a Resurrection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Abigail Kubeka<\/strong>\u00a0as Koko<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A true South African cultural icon, Abigail Kubeka is a legendary singer and actress whose career spans more than six decades. A former member of The Skylarks alongside Miriam Makeba, she has performed for Nelson Mandela and Queen Elizabeth II. She is a recipient of the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver, a SAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award and a Wawela Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Natasha Thahane<\/strong>\u00a0as Abo<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Natasha Thahane is known internationally for her role as Wendy Dlamini in Netflix\u2019s acclaimed South African teen drama Blood &amp; Water.
