Huawei’s new offerings delight all the senses

Reading Time: 4 minutes

When you think about your best life moments, it’s the touch of your loved one’s hand on your arm or the sound of your child’s laughter that resonates. Emotion is intrinsically linked to our senses and that is why Huawei has ensured their latest offerings speak to our most emotional human link.
The Huawei Mate S launches in South Africa today. The flagship of the Mate series, this premium smartphone harnesses the sense of touch to ensure absolute functionality whether on the road keeping up with work or photographing your favourite designs as they prance past you on the runway.
The smartphone’s 5.5” AMOLED FHD display is cased in a full metal shell with side edges of only 2.6mm and an ergonomically crafted curved surface to ensure it cushions itself seamlessly into the palm of your hand.

It’s all in the touch
The Mate S has found a way to utilise our strongest sense, that of touch, to take functionality and creativity to the next level. The phone’s key feature is the incredible Force Touch Technology, which allows you to easily facilitate different actions like zooming in when taking a photo or launching an app simply by applying a different level of pressure to the screen. Touch is taken further with the introduction of Knuckle Sense 2.0, introduced in the Huawei P8 and now even better. Use Knuckle Sense to create your own original short codes on the screen. Draw a letter and it correlates to a corresponding action. Drawing a c will open the camera while an e will open your Internet browser.

Fingerprint 2.0 is the upgrade on the offering originally found in the Mate 7. This single tap unlock functionality is now faster, more sensitive and brags self-learning functions which improves recognition by 100%. Fingerprint 2.0 not only unlocks your phone or secures banking payments but also now lets you control notifications, scroll through photos and even answer calls or take selfies.

Taking selfies or professional quality photos has never been easier. The Mate S has a 13MP rear camera with a four colour RGBW image sensor, optical image stabilisers, dual colour temperature LED flashlights and independent image signal processor camera units. The 8MP front camera has soft front lights and is easily controlled by the fingerprint sense technology. Every innovation has gone in to ensuring you simply need to touch a button and you are guaranteed crystal clear breath-taking images every time.

Available in Dual SIM or Dual 4G LTE, the Mate S is nestled in the palm of your hand ensuring it becomes an extension of you in every way. Features such as smart recording and wireless printing through Mopria General Protocol allow the Mate S to become more than just hand candy. Its 2 hours of talk time after a 10-minute charge also means you’ll never be stood up.

“The Mate S is designed for the stylish and for the invincible. It is the ideal companion that will touch your life in such a way that you’ll never know how you got through a day without it.” says Charlene Munilall, General Manager, Huawei Consumer Business Group, South Africa.

But what’s that noise?
Huawei appreciates that touch is our primal sense but the magic of music and the variety of vision adds to our most beautiful experiences. That is why it is proud to introduce the new Huawei MediaPad M2 to the South African market.

The World’s first 8-inch all metal 4G media tablet brags industry leading audio quality and a wide angle 1920 x 1200 FHD display that easily transitions with you from work to play. The massive 4800mAh battery ensures your MediaPad supplies the beat to your dance for 30 hours before requiring a charge.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 operates on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) while running on a 2.0 GHz Kirin930 64 bit Octa-core CPU – the most advanced SoC Chipset from Huawei yet. The chipset utilises 8 chips that intelligently switch cores depending on the application running.

Whether streaming a video conference or enjoying the latest episode of your favourite TV series while Ubering home – the MediaPad M2’s advanced audio technology was developed to ensure the ultimate sound experience.

Partnering with Harmon Kardon, Huawei’s MediaPad M2 will re-define music playback on a handheld device. Whether your vice is music, movies or games – the Clari•Fi real audio technology and advanced music tuning will create incredible sound quality that rivals the best stereos out there.

“Harmon Kardon has always worked to create both a work of art and sound by combining audio quality and iconic design.” says Munilall, “Huawei has always prided itself on technologically innovative products that push the boundaries of creative design so as to build a product that not only performs but also turns heads when placed on a table. Sharing the same design principle and adding the Harmon Kardon audio quality to the mix is merely the next step in Huawei’s journey to the perfect companion tablet…which we believe we’ve created with the MediaPad M2.”

Amplifying the beautiful sound, the MediaPad M2 incorporates striking visuals that jump off the edge to edge 8” 1920 x 1200 wide-angle FHD display while the intelligent colour enhancement technology, Sun View function and Eye Care Mode ensure you’ll never want to put your tablet down – no matter where you might find yourself.

Inspired by the gentle curve and sleek lines of a musical score, the Huawei MediaPad M2 is able to produce a glorious medley not only for your ears but also for your eyes.

Huawei’s latest offerings will softly caress your skin while gently strumming the sound of pure class and elegance in your ear. Touching every sense and amplifying you – it is time to dance into the future of high-end devices.
