Fast-rising SA singer / musician Nakhane Touré is set to mesmerize music-lovers when he performs live for the first time at The Sun City Resort as part of the awesome Spring Celebration 2014 line-up. He takes to the stage at The Valley of Waves on Saturday, 27 September to showfans of South African music what he is made of.Touré is a restless soul on a mission to make sense of the world with his songs. His whirring mind is heard through his bewitching lyrics, and his high, haunting vocals, show that he is not afraid to expose himself. Flipping easily between different music styles, Touré’s natural talent for music and performing shines through.His show promises something for everyone. His mesmerising, 21st century folk owes as much to traditional African music as it does to recent Western rock, ‘60s soul and ‘70s jazz. He may have taken the name Touré in homage to his idol Ali Farka Touré, but he is as likely to cite Morrissey, Nina Simone, Black Flag or Radiohead as influences. Spring Celebration 2014 takes place from 1 September to 25 October 2014, with a dazzling line-up of artists and bands performing over the eight week period. The Huisgenoot Skouspel, on the 4th, 10th and 11th of October, is one of the highlights of Spring Celebration, with over 20 of the biggest names in Afrikaans music performing, as well as a guest appearance by international concert pianist, Richard Clayderman.
