The Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) is gearing up to host its much-anticipated Annual Summit on October 8, 2025, bringing together key players from the retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries. The prestigious event will take place in Johannesburg, under the theme “Building Sustainable Value Chains for the Future Economy.”

The CGCSA Summit is one of the country’s most influential industry gatherings, drawing senior executives, policymakers, and thought leaders from across South Africa and beyond. This year’s summit aims to tackle critical issues such as supply chain resilience, food security, consumer protection, sustainability, and digital transformation in the retail and consumer goods sectors.

CGCSA CEO Zinhle Tyikwe said the summit provides a vital platform for collaboration and strategic dialogue at a time when the consumer goods industry faces both challenges and opportunities.

“The CGCSA Summit 2025 will bring together decision-makers to address issues that directly impact the sector’s growth and long-term sustainability. Our focus is on driving innovation and fostering responsible business practices that benefit consumers and communities alike,” said Tyikwe.

The event will feature panel discussions, keynote addresses, and networking sessions, with participation from major retail chains, FMCG manufacturers, and government representatives. Topics will also include ESG compliance, climate-smart retail, and consumer trends shaping post-pandemic markets.

Past summits have seen participation from leading corporations such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Tiger Brands, and Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa, as well as representation from government departments and consumer advocacy groups.

This year, the CGCSA Summit promises to be even more impactful, aligning with South Africa’s broader goals of economic recovery, job creation, and sustainable development.

For delegates and industry professionals, the summit is an opportunity to gain insights into emerging market trends, policy directions, and best practices driving growth in the consumer goods landscape.

Registration for the summit is open on the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa’s official website, with limited seats available.
