The Color Run is coming to Polokwane following the first two hugely successful events in Port Elizabeth and Durban in the 2015 series.
Polokwane is next on The Color Run™ 2015 calendar. The Color Run will paint the town red (and blue, green, pink, and purple) on 15 August 2015.
“The happiest 5K on the planet” is brighter, shinier and happier this year, as the extremely successful events in Port Elizabeth and Durban have shown.
“The Color Run is bigger and better than ever, and that’s thanks in part to the fact that South Africa’s happiest bank, Capitec Bank, has come on board as the headline sponsor,” says Leon Swanepoel, The Color Run South Africa event producer.
Color Runners can expect nothing like ever before, with this year’s run including a sprinkle of glitter and a few other surprises. Participating in this year’s most anticipated event will be done in the true spirit of Ubuntu.
“But, it is about so much more than just one day, which is why we are thrilled to have a sponsor such as Capitec Bank, which shares The Color Run’s passion for social upliftment,” says Swanepoel.
“Capitec Bank is really excited to be on board with The Color Run, because we share the same values. Like The Color Run, we also believe in health, happiness, individuality, giving back, living life in technicolour and having fun, while caring about the community. With Polokwane only a month away, we’re working hard to ensure the most colourful day out, and we can’t wait to be there,” says Charl Nel, head of communications at Capitec Bank.
Capitec Bank recently partnered with Adopt-a-School Foundation and is donating R10.00 from every ticket sold to support education in each city hosting The Color Run. “We were able to raise over R50 000 for Ndukwenhle High School in Umlazi Township Durban. Of this, R40 000 was spent on much need text books. To raise awareness for Adopt-a-School, we built a giant takkie in which the books were displayed at the Durban event. The giant takkie will be touring with The Color Run, so don’t miss it in Polokwane!” says Nel.
The Color Run is the single largest 5km event series in the world, which hosted more than 300 events in over 50 countries in 2014. Registration for Polokwane is open!
Every runner will receive a R200 voucher from Takealot.com for the purchase of The Color Run powder and merchandise, as well as a R200 voucher from Superbalist to be redeemed against a minimum spend of R250.
