Chery answers the call for a car that makes a real statement among younger generation

Chery South Africa, which markets a number of attractive and affordable small to mid-size cars and an SUV, has just launched a special edition model that is the answer for those – particularly in the younger set – who are looking for a stylish car that makes a statement about its owner as being independent, sporty and a person with an active lifestyle.
The attractive new addition to the range is based on the trendy, J2 mid-size hatchback. It has been named the Swag and is a feature-packed hatch with real attitude that will stand out from the crowd. Importantly it is also affordable at a price of R154 900 including VAT.
The stylish J2, which was designed in-house by the Chery team, is modern in appearance, up-to-date in its specification and built in a modern new factory in Erdos, central China. It is a product of Chery’s 4S design philosophy – Sporty, Science (technology), Space and Safety.
Defining features of the Swag special edition model are aggressive, 17-inch,
10-spoke alloy wheels, an F1-X exhaust tailpipe end, full leather interior and a host of standard features that includes touchscreen satellite navigation, Bluetooth with streaming capability as well as USB and MP3 player compatibility with a six-speaker audio system.

The Chery J2 Swag offers sporty performance from an economical 1.5-litre engine developing 72kW.
Convenience features include air-conditioning, electrically-operated windows all round and power steering with plenty of road feel for the enthusiastic driver.
The Chery J2 Swag also features well in the safety stakes, with dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD) for safe stopping in an emergency, a collapsible steering column with side-impact bars in the four doors.
Security is another area where the J2 Swag stands tall with remote central locking, alarm/immobiliser and delayed switch off from the follow-me-home headlights.
The Chery range of vehicles has the backing of the Imperial Group with an exceptional 5-year/120 000km warranty, 2-year/30 000km service plan and a five years roadside assistance. It is sold and serviced countrywide through an established network of 36 dealers.
