Candy inspired by her SAMA nomination

The HARD working Candy was excited to learn about her SAMA nomination on the tough category of Best Traditional Music Album. The SAMA23 will take place at Sun City later this month. The resorts remains the spiritual home of the South African Music Awards after relocated to Durban because of the renovations. She spoke to this writer about the hard work she put on the Easy Come Easy Go album. ” Anyone will be excited to be nominated amongst the best in the music industry in the same category with the likes of Dr Tomas Chauke . These are not ordinary musicians but giants of the music industry with a career spanning over 30 years” She said. Candy worked with many musicians in the road to stardom, amongst others artists like Selaelo Selota, Malatjie and also the legendary Oskido , the boss of Kalawa Jazzmee. Her hard work finally paid off with this album, Easy Come Easy Go which was produced by Trevor Mabunda , who also produced her previous debut which won 2009 SATMA best Sepedi album and also got nomination for Best Alternative SAMA. “ Mabunda plays a very important role in my career and we come back a long way. He is a brother to me and we work closely from the beginning’’. She told this writer that she will dedicate the award if she win it to her kids as they remain her source of inspiration.
