Budget Rent a Car recently announced their sponsorship of the Old Mutual Soweto Marathon that took place on 6 November 2016 at the FNB Stadium in Soweto.
Over 10 years of its existence, The Old Mutual Soweto Marathon, also known as “The People’s Race” is widely considered as a bucket list item for many South African runners, because not only is it a race, but also a historical tour of Soweto. The memorable experience takes you into the historic heart of Soweto where you will run past some of the iconic sites like the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Walter Sisulu Square, Regina Mundi Catholic Church and Vilakazi street – the only street in the world that was once home to two Nobel Peace Laureates – Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
