With just two weeks to go until the Beyond Sport Summit and Awards take place in Johannesburg on 28th to 30th October, Beyond Sport has unveiled its official eight Young Ambassadors for the city of Johannesburg.

The eight young people selected are all involved in sport for development programmes within their communities, and demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities. The Beyond Sport Young Ambassador programme recognises these skills and works with the selected candidates to further their careers and create a platform for them to grow, using the power of sport.

Launched in 2012, the Beyond Sport Young Ambassador Programme works with sport for change organisations across the globe and encourages them to champion young people within the company who they feel are worthy of becoming an Ambassador. Companies involved in the Johannesburg Young Ambassador programme include; Grassroot Soccer, Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and Sport For All. A legacy to all of Beyond Sport’s global events, the Ambassador programme currently spans London, New York, Philadelphia, Glasgow and now exists in Johannesburg.

Beyond Sport will present these youth leaders with a tailored programme of money-can’t-buy opportunities to further their careers and to give them the opportunity to help and inspire others within their networks. These include the chance to attend global Beyond Sport events, to be a part of high-level panel discussions surrounding youth leadership and the power of sport and one-to-one business mentoring sessions with some of the industry most influential figureheads. Previous organisations who have supported the business mentoring include; Barclays, UNICEF, Comic Relief and Lincoln Financial Group.
