Following the success of the inaugural Waterfall City Tournament of Champions, supported by Attacq and the Waterfall City Management Company in 2024, the Sunshine Tour will tee off its 2025/26 season in Johannesburg from 22-25 May 2025.
This tournament brings together a diverse field of champions in South African golf drawn from the Sunshine Tour and Sunshine Ladies Tour to compete for a R1 million prize.
As part of Attacq’s commitment to having a positive impact in our communities and environment the tournament will bring together a diverse group of golfers, including professionals in the men’s and women’s games, as well as the leading golfers within the South African Disabled Golf Association (SADGA).
As South Africans, we know sport has a unique power to bring people together, foster connection, and build community. Attacq recognises the profound impact it can make on the communities within which it operates. Attacq, through the Sunshine Tour, exemplifies this commitment, providing a platform to empower athletes and nurture local talent in South Africa.
Michael Clampett, Asset and Property Management Executive at Attacq says, “We’re looking forward to this year’s Tour. This tournament celebrates the passion and diversity of local golfers and reflects the values that Attacq embraces. We’re proud to partner with SADGA and the Sunshine Tour to bring this event to life and enable all passionate golfers to participate in a prestigious golfing tournament.”
By supporting SADGA, Attacq is supporting inclusivity and accessibility within the sport. This dedicated tournament offers six of South Africa’s leading golfers with disabilities a unique opportunity to compete and demonstrate their talent. The 2025 edition will feature a strong contingent of SADGA representatives, including Juan Postigo, Daniel Slabbert, Kelvin van Baalen, David Watts, Evian Resort, and Nlareb Amang. This line-up reflects the calibre and diversity of talent within the association. This initiative has been commended by SADGA for providing a vital spotlight on these athletes.
“We’re proud to be associated with the Sunshine Tour as well as its sponsors. Following the success of last year’s event, we believe this is a platform that will continue to raise the profile of golf for the differently abled in South Africa. Through collaboration with sponsors and golfing event owners we can give our players an opportunity to compete at a more national scale” SADGA Non-Executive Director, Pieter Verwey, commented.
Attacq’s support goes beyond the event itself, reinforcing its broader commitment to building smarter, safer, and more sustainable spaces, and contributing positively to society.
Thomas Abt, Commissioner of the Sunshine Tour, said: “The first edition of the Tour proved incredibly popular with the golfers and fans alike. The energy, the level of competition, and the support from the community truly set a high benchmark”.
As anticipation builds for the 2025/26 season opener, the Waterfall City Tournament of Champions stands as an example of how sport can be a catalyst for unity. Through its continued partnership with the Sunshine Tour and the South African Disabled Golf Association, Attacq is not only helping to elevate South African golf but also championing the values of accessibility, and representation both on and off the course
