Ritsako Game Lodge going strong after historical launch
Ritsako Game Lodge which was launched on 24 November, 2017 is still going strong as it surges towards its first six months in operation.
While the Dinokeng Game Reserve in northern Gauteng is also relatively young, after it was established only in 2011, the wholly black-owned Ritsako Game Lodge has added shine and value to the fortunes of the massive reserve. Dinokeng stretches over 18 500ha, touching parts of Limpopo and North West provinces.
The luxurious Ritsako lodge was founded on the back of a R35-million investment and, according to the Lodge manager, the money was a good spend given the greater ideal to help boost the local economy in Hammanskraal and theTshwane metro at large.
Ritsako has already employed a good number of people from the nearby Hammanskraal and the number of workers stands to grow with the growth of the Lodge.
Ritsako, Tsonga for “joy”, is built on the site of a facility which was cleared to make way for the establishment. Its construction began in August last year.
Ritsako boasts modern facilities, from luxurious grass-thatched rooms to
three conference venues and three breakaway rooms with occupancy ranging from 18 delegates in the intimate boardroom to 250 persons in the large conference room. One of the multipurpose venues can be converted into a wedding chapel and the lodged has already hosted their first wedding booking.
For accommodation, there are both catered and self-catering unitswith double-storey family units to choose from. The standard rooms are spacious and comfortable with their king-size and beds covered in quality linen.
Outside the rooms, there is a lot more to entertain guests, with facilities such as the outdoor bar overlooking a splash pool, an elevated viewing deck to check out wild animals or you can also take a short walk around the spacious property.
Speaking of wild animals, Dinokeng is the only reserve in Gauteng with free-roaming Big Five (lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard). In other words, the reserve 45km north of Pretoria has brought the Kruger National Park to Gauteng.
An additional attraction to Ritsako is that the weather at Dinokeng is pleasant all-year round.
Ritsako also welcomes day visitors who want a quiet time away from the busy city life, and its on-site restaurant serves delicious meals all-day long. The bar is stocked with some of the finest wines you can find in the South Africa.
