RESHAPING BODY POSITIVITY: TASTIC AND NTOKOZO MBAMBO’S PURPOSE-LED COLLABORATION

Tastic continues its mission of supporting phenomenal South Africans who continue to make a difference in society.

With the theme of the afternoon being inspired by her journey of self-love, body positivity and wellness, Ntokozo Mbambo and Tastic hosted an intimate event where Ntokozo spoke to guests about her partnership with Tastic Rice in support of those who feel marginalised because of their size.

Following the release of her latest single, Jehova You Reign, gospel artist Ntokozo Mbambo vocalised her struggles with body positivity and how her journey inspired her to play an active role in reshaping the narrative around weight and wellness through her partnership with Tastic Rice.

“Throughout my life, I have struggled with self-acceptance. I placed a lot of importance on other people’s perceptions of me which took a toll on my confidence and subsequently had a negative impact on my career”, says Mbambo.

“It took me a long time to realise that what was warped was societies idea of beauty and health. My partnership with Tastic Rice is aimed at promoting body positivity by talking about wholistic wellness which for me is everything from what I feed my body to what I use to feed my soul” continues Mbambo.

While there has been a noticeable shift in how society’s perceptions of women, as a country, South Africa still has a long way to go in not only changing the narrative around body positivity but also around empowering women who feel marginalised because of how they look.

“As a brand, Tastic supports those who drive positive messages through experience. Ntokozo’s story is not unique in that so many women feel discounted because society has conditioned them to believe that if they don’t fit the ‘one size fits all’ model, they don’t matter. With this partnership, we can reshape traditional perceptions of health by reinforcing the fact that you can be healthy at any size. We want to give them the freedom to be themselves and truly love who they are” says Thembi Sehloho, Marketing Director for Tastic

Guests in attendance were treated to delicious healthy Tastic rice inspired meals while Ntokozo Mbambo provided the perfect soundtrack with her latest collaboration, fusing her powerful vocals with the smooth sounds of acclaimed R&B sensation, Jonathan Butler.

Following Ntokozo’s performance, the singer shared a touching account of her journey of self-love and shared details of her partnership with Tastic that aims to drive the conversation around body positivity at her Carols by Candlelight concert where she will be giving away a selection of her garments in support of the initiative.

The single will be available on all digital platforms (Deezer, Spotify, iTunes, iMusic, Google Play Music) from 5th December 2019.
