Chris Bertish to host first public SUP Crossing Talk – Go the Distance! in Cape Town in August
Join world renowned Inspirational Speaker, Author, Ocean Ambassador and Waterman, Chris Bertish at the Avenue, V&A Waterfront on Friday 18th August from 6.30pm or Saturday 19 August from 2pm for an exclusive screening of his award winning film – Ocean Driven, followed by his first inspiring public talk/presentation on his epic adventure, the SUP Crossing – Go the Distance.
Chris Bertish is a Big Wave Surfing Mavericks champion; Stand up Paddle Boarding Guinness World Record Holder and Ocean Pioneer. He recently redefined the concept of Extreme Adventure by becoming the first person to ever Stand Up Paddle across any ocean.
Defying all odds, Chris paddled 7500km – solo, unsupported and unassisted – for 93 days and Nights across the Atlantic Ocean from Morocco, Africa to Antigua in the Caribbean. This is a truly unparalleled global feat!
By conquering this challenge, Chris showed the world that if we truly believe in ourselves and are driven by passion and powered by a purpose greater than ourselves, we all have the power to overcome any obstacles and achieve even the seemingly impossible. His philosophy is one of positive change – starting with ourselves; we can make a difference to others and the environment. This is the message Chris shares in all his talks and public appearances. From Chris’s motivational and Inspirational speaking messages to the charities he supports – it’s all focused on making the impossible, possible. In fact, everything Chris does is aimed at inspiring people to overcome and push through their fears in order to reach their greatest potential, while making the change and being the positive change they want to see in the world.
A limited number of VIP Tickets are also available for a personal meet and greet session following the film and talk on the Friday evening. Be part of the exclusive audience and support the wonderful charities for which Chris is an ambassador, namely Signature of Hope, Operation Smile and the Lunchbox Fund.
