It was a carnival atmosphere on the historic Vilakazi Street in Orlando West, Soweto last night as Chibuku celebrated its new look and brand positioning at Sakhumzi Restaurant.
The popular traditional sorghum brew has been spruced up and given a spanking new appeal. Chibuku chefs prepared some deliciously refreshing cocktails to showcase how the new Banana and Pineapple flavours can be enjoyed on a hot summer day.
Celebrities such as Khanyi Mbau, Tebogo Lerole, Siphesihle Vazi, Clement Maosa, Tshepo Maseko, Lesley Musina, Xoli Zondo, Buhle Maseko, Akhumzi Jezile, Soul Kulture and Tol Ass Mo, stuck to the dress code and donned their traditional gear as they danced to music by Sliq Angel, MXO, Candy Tsa Mandebele, Karabo and Revolution.
The entertainment ran well into the night with Chibuku flowing freely.
Comments Siya, head of marketing of united national breweries: “The new look Chibuku oozes the new cool and sophistication. It can be mixed up in different variations to create the ultimate summer cocktail. The new flavours of Banana and Pineapple are also trendy. The party last night lived up to our expectations and beyond with all the revelry and festivities celebrating the evolution of a true African brand.”
