Brave Combat Federation announces venue in South Africa
Brave Combat Federation, the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation based in Bahrain, will host the nineteenth edition (19th) of the Brave 19 event during Combat Week Africa. Combat Week Africa will take place from the 2nd – 8th December, 2018. Brave 19 will take centre stage on the 8th December and feature major athletes from South Africa alongside International athletes. Held at Sun City’s incredible Super Bowl, MMA fans will be thrilled to note that Combat Week Africa is the largest combat sports festival ever to take place in South Africa with athletes from over 25 nations across 5 continents.
Brave Combat Federation is an initiative under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa from the Kingdom of Bahrain, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and the founder of Brave Combat Federation.
Brave Combat Federation President Mohamed Shahid shared his pride, saying that “As detailed, Brave 19 marks the biggest International MMA event hosted in the con-tinent of Africa surpassing our achievement in Morocco,” adding that “We are truly proud to be the only global mixed martial arts promotion to host multiple events across the African continent.” Shahid firmly believes that there is enormous potential in Africa and stated that “Brave is wholly committed to providing a global platform for the athletes and in doing so, create an ecosystem for Mixed Martial Arts to thrive.”
The event is organised in association with Vodacom and Sun International with local supporting partner, Scuffle Media. Combat Week Africa will feature multiple combat sports events, including local mixed martial arts on the opening day; 2nd December and followed by Professional Boxing on the 5th December. Further detail includes the South African Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament on 6th December and the official weigh-in of all participants of the Brave Combat Federation on the 7th December.
Brave Combat Federation is home to multiple athletes from South Africa including Chad Hanekom, Frans Mlambo, Jeremy Smith and JP Buys. The South African par-ticipant and athlete roster is in progress currently and many more featured athletes will be announced shortly. Be sure to watch the press for details.
Brave 19 marks the first ever combat sports event to take place in South Africa with the highest global coverage, which will include an incredible live broadcast through StarSat and Vodacom.
