Avis shows support for cyclists in KZN premier race

Avis Rent a Car and Avis Van Rental are the official vehicle partners of the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic cycle race, a partnership held since 2015.
The 31st instalment of KwaZulu-Natal’s premier cycle race will be held on 22 October 2017.
The full distance of the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic is 106 km, however, there is also a 65km half challenge and a 35 km fun ride. The race starts from Pietermaritzburg and finishes at the Suncoast Casino on Durban’s Golden Mile.
To ensure that the race runs smoothly, Avis Van Rental will provide vehicles to be used on the route of the cycle race for logistical support. This includes making deliveries at water points and being on hand to assist cyclists along the way and at the cut off points.
Avis Rent a Car is standing true to its promise that people are more important than cars, and will provide lead cars for the 65 km and the 35 km races, including sweep cars for stragglers and breakdowns on route.
Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic cyclists can look forward to the newly introduced Avis car rental drop off service, where rented cars may be dropped off at Golden Horse Casino in Pietermaritzburg, assisting out-of-town cyclists.
Rainer Gottschick, Chief Executive at Avis Rent a Car southern Africa says, “We are proud to be a partner of this prestigious event using our mobility offering to support the race. The safety and comfort of our customers is priority at Avis, and the drop-off service and long-standing vehicle partnership with the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic bears testament to this. I wish all the cyclists the best of luck.”
