IPL Auction

It’s all about action-packed family entertainment this weekend as the KZN Indoor Premier League, sponsored and hosted by Aucor, takes place from 4 to 6 May in Durban. The teams include Proteas and Dolphins players from around Durban, playing indoors for a change at the Aucor Durban premises in Riverhorse Valley.

The cricket tournament will feature teams from six regions in Durban including Phoenix, Umhlanga, Westwood, Musgrave, Overport and Chatsworth with Aucor taking ownership of the Aucor Musgrave Warriors. The team includes Imraan Khan, Yusuf Abdulla, Sarel Erwee, Amar Ahmed, Mahomed Azeez, Gareth Rall, George Bronkhorst, Labib Adam, Abdul Haq and local indoor cricket specialist, Garth Chislett.

The players for each team were secured recently at a glittering auction event in Windermere. Similar to how the Indian Premier League runs, 18 players were auctioned off to the highest bidders for the league. Aucor’s team member, Garth Chislett achieved the highest bid of the night.

Other players taking part in the event include Khaya Zondo and Nantie Hayward.

Nazeer Asmal, Managing Director of Aucor Durban and Team Manager of the Aucor Musgrave Warriors, says: “Aucor is excited to be sponsoring and hosting the Indoor Premier League at our facilities. 2018 is a year of celebration for Aucor as we are celebrating 50 years in business and we are proud to back this event that is not only providing entertainment but is also contributing towards youth cricket development. This will be a spectacular action-packed event fit for the whole family.”

The event is free to the public and takes place at the Aucor premises at 16 Imvubu Park Place in Riverhorse Valley. From live cricket action, kiddies activities, entertainment, craft and food stalls to auctions, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Four auctions will take place over the course of the tournament including the flagship Supercar auction on Sunday, May 6 at 15h30. For more information on the upcoming auctions, visit www.aucor.com.
